Agamemnon and the Greeks

I think this part of he story is a very interesting and mind twisting section.  It talks about the 'plague' being shot down like arrows by Apollo.  I think that makes this a slight myth but with a weird reality tied in.  They believed that the plague was actually Apollo firing his arrows at them for the treachery of Agamemnon not taking the ransom for the Priests daughter.  I think it is weird that even in the reality of a plague taking hold of the army the myth of the 'gods' came in because of their supposed belief system.
